To commemorate the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, one of the region’s most awe-inspiring productions unfolded at the breathtaking Hatta Dam. Designed by Es Devlin and produced by LarMac Live, the event featured a floating stage set in an artificial pool surrounded by the stunning mountainous landscape, which became an integral part of the visual storytelling.

Evolution Scenic played a pivotal role in delivering one of the event’s most ambitious and technically challenging features—a series of 100 telescopic replicas of iconic UAE buildings that formed the dramatic climax of the performance.

Rising in perfect synchronization, these illuminated structures symbolized the nation’s achievements and progress over the past 50 years.

Pioneering Scenic Solutions for a Landmark Celebration

Telescopic Lightbox Buildings: Designed and fabricated 100 replicas of iconic UAE buildings as telescopic lightboxes, capable of rising seamlessly from the central stage feature. Each building was self-illuminated with individually controlled LED lighting to maximize the 3D effect for the audience.
Multi-Tiered Designs: Engineered with up to four tiers to reflect varying building heights, combining precise fabrication with structural integrity.
Custom Lighting Effects: Integrated advanced LED systems into each lightbox, with all 100 structures patched into a single control circuit to enable dynamic lighting sequences.
Robust Mechanisms: Utilized telescopic tower machines and heavy-duty industrial tracks to ensure flawless movement, even in challenging environmental conditions, including high winds and humidity.
Compact Engineering: Designed to fit structures over 6m high into concealed spaces as small as 1.2m x 20cm, ensuring seamless integration into the stage design.

The intricate design and compact engineering required meticulous planning and precise execution to deliver within the challenging mountain environment.

From concept to completion, Evolution Scenic overcame tight timelines and complex technical requirements to ensure the seamless integration of these spectacular elements into the performance. The telescopic buildings became the highlight of the show, their rise from the stage floor representing the UAE’s progress and innovation.
