CHRISTMAS AT EXPO CITY

For the Christmas celebration at Expo City, Evolution Scenic was commissioned to fabricate a series of custom festive installations and decor that transformed the space into a magical winter wonderland.

The project required a balance of artistry, structural expertise, and innovative fabrication techniques to create visually stunning and interactive holiday experiences for visitors.

Festive Scenic Fabrication and Interactive Design

• Decor Islands: Constructed large, freestanding decor islands using EPS foam and moisture-resistant MDF (MR-MDF), finished with a snow-textured effect to create a winter-themed ambiance.
• Giant Baubles: Designed and crafted stacks of giant baubles arranged in eye-catching displays to enhance the festive atmosphere.
• Light-Up Reindeer and Tree Art: Created illuminated reindeer and stylized tree art pieces, bringing a magical glow to the event space.
• Santa’s Reindeer and Sleigh: Fabricated a sleigh, large enough for children to sit in for photos, along with Santa’s reindeer, crafted from a combination of styrofoam and wood. Both elements were finished with detailed, realistic scenic painting to add lifelike appeal.
• Giant Nutcrackers: Designed and fabricated oversized nutcracker sculptures to serve as iconic festive elements and popular photo opportunities.
• Santa’s House: Built a charming, custom Santa’s house with intricate detailing, creating a central attraction for the event.
• Custom Festive Shop Units: Delivered holiday-themed retail units to support event activities and merchandise sales.
• Letters to Santa Activation: Designed a "Letters to Santa" giant mailbox, paired with a dedicated activity area featuring custom tables and seating for children to write their letters to Santa.

Challenges and Execution

The project posed logistical challenges, particularly in placing large decor islands without caster wheels within tight working spaces.

Additionally, the Santa’s sleigh and reindeer required precise craftsmanship to balance structural integrity with artistic detailing.

Despite these complexities, Evolution Scenic’s skilled team delivered all elements seamlessly, maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity.

This festive transformation highlighted Evolution Scenic’s expertise in scenic fabrication and interactive design, resulting in a holiday environment that captivated visitors of all ages.
