Fabricating A Signature Perfume Environment For Victoria's Secret

For the launch of Victoria’s Secret’s new fragrance in 2021, Evolution Scenic delivered a bespoke scenic environment within the Victoria’s Secret boutique in Dubai. The project centred on translating the distinctive form and identity of the fragrance bottle into a series of physical and digital scenic elements. A large-scale perfume bottle was fabricated in fibreglass to create the principal visual feature within the installation. Custom-shaped video walls were also developed around the bottle silhouette, extending the product identity into the digital presentation. Together, these elements established a strong visual connection between the fragrance packaging and the surrounding boutique environment.

The wider scenic treatment included an MDF-clad desk with an integrated LED screen, branded scenic elements and decorative backdrops. Graphic projections were incorporated to extend the visual language of the launch across additional surfaces within the space. Drapery introduced a softer material layer, balancing the harder fabricated elements and digital displays. Each component contributed to a coordinated environment built around the form, colour and presentation of the fragrance. The completed installation combined fibreglass fabrication, MDF scenic construction, digital integration, graphics and textiles into a unified branded setting.

Turning A Perfume Bottle Into Scenic Fabrication

The central scenic feature required the perfume bottle to be reproduced at an enlarged scale as a prominent three-dimensional element within the boutique. Rather than using the bottle purely as a graphic reference, Evolution Scenic translated its recognisable form into a substantial piece of scenic fabrication. Fibreglass was selected to create the enlarged bottle, allowing the curved profile and distinctive proportions of the original packaging to be recreated accurately. The finished structure gave the product a stronger physical presence within the environment and established a clear focal point for the installation. By transforming the fragrance bottle into a fabricated object, the product itself became an integral part of the scenic architecture.

The use of fibreglass allowed the bottle form to move beyond conventional display graphics and become a sculptural scenic feature. Its three-dimensional construction introduced depth, scale and visual impact that could not have been achieved through printed branding alone. The enlarged form also created a direct connection between the physical environment and the identity of the fragrance being launched. Surrounding scenic and digital elements could then be developed around this central reference, reinforcing the bottle silhouette throughout the wider installation. The result was a bespoke scenic interpretation of the product that combined sculptural fabrication with the visual language of the Victoria’s Secret fragrance launch.

Fabricating The Digital Scenic Elements

The perfume bottle identity was also carried through into the digital display elements. The source confirms that Evolution Scenic fabricated custom-shaped video walls following the silhouette of the fragrance bottle. This allowed the same product-inspired geometry to be used across the digital components of the installation.

An LED screen was also integrated into an MDF-clad desk. The MDF construction created a fabricated scenic structure around the digital display, allowing the screen to form part of the overall presentation environment. The combination of custom scenic fabrication and digital display technology created continuity between the physical bottle and the digital media.

MDF Scenic Construction

MDF cladding was used to form the custom desk and the scenic element surrounding the integrated LED screen. Rather than treating the screen as a separate technical component, the surrounding fabrication incorporated it directly into the wider scenic treatment, allowing the digital display to become part of the overall visual architecture of the boutique.

The desk was developed as a purpose-built presentation structure, combining practical functionality with a clean fabricated finish appropriate to the surrounding branded environment. MDF was well suited to this type of scenic construction because it can be accurately cut, shaped and assembled to create controlled surfaces, crisp junctions and consistent detailing across bespoke scenic elements.

The LED screen was incorporated into the MDF construction so that the technology read as an integrated feature rather than a freestanding display. This helped create a more considered relationship between the screen, desk and surrounding scenic finishes, ensuring that the digital content remained visually connected to the physical environment.

Integrating digital equipment into scenic fabrication also requires careful consideration of the interface between the finished cladding and the technical components. Openings, edges and surrounding surfaces need to be accurately fabricated so that the screen sits cleanly within the scenic structure while maintaining the intended proportions and appearance.

This approach is frequently used in custom scenic construction where technology forms part of a larger branded composition. Screens, lighting and other technical elements can be incorporated within fabricated structures so that they contribute to the overall design rather than appearing as separate production equipment.

For this installation, the MDF desk and LED-screen surround therefore performed more than a purely functional role. Together, they created a unified scenic feature within the boutique, combining furniture fabrication, digital integration and architectural detailing into a single element of the overall scenic environment.

Building The Branded Environment

The fabrication extended beyond the main perfume bottle and integrated digital display to establish a more complete branded environment. Evolution Scenic also delivered branded signage, decorative backdrops and graphic projection elements that supported the wider visual identity of the fragrance launch. Flowing drapery was incorporated throughout the space to soften the harder fabricated elements and introduce a more refined visual treatment. These textile features helped create contrast against the rigid scenic construction while contributing additional depth and movement within the environment. Together, the fabricated structures, graphics and decorative finishes formed a cohesive setting around the central product display.

The final environment combined hard scenic construction with digital media, graphic treatments, signage and textiles. Each element was developed to contribute to the overall visual language of the activation rather than functioning as an isolated feature. The decorative backdrops and projections helped extend the brand presence across the surrounding space, while the drapery introduced a softer architectural layer. This combination allowed different materials and production techniques to work together within a single scenic composition. Throughout the installation, the perfume bottle remained the principal visual reference point, with the surrounding elements designed to support and reinforce its prominence.

Coordinating The Wider Launch

The scenic installation formed part of the wider Victoria’s Secret fragrance launch in Dubai. Evolution Scenic’s confirmed scope focused on the boutique scenic environment, where the physical brand experience was developed through custom fabrication and integrated visual elements. The launch also involved coordination of a Victoria’s Secret brand projection on the Burj Khalifa for the exclusive launch night. This external projection extended the visual identity of the campaign beyond the boutique itself and into the wider city environment. Together, the physical installation and large-scale projection created a stronger connection between the in-store activation and the broader launch moment.

The boutique environment provided the main physical setting for the fragrance presentation, while the Burj Khalifa projection introduced a separate digital layer at city scale. These two elements worked in parallel to reinforce the same brand identity across very different formats. The scenic installation delivered the tangible, spatial experience within the boutique, while the projection expanded the campaign’s visibility beyond the immediate venue. This combination helped create a more cohesive launch presence across both physical and digital environments. The result was a coordinated visual experience that connected bespoke scenic fabrication with large-scale branded projection.

Delivering A Product-Led Scenic Environment

The completed installation demonstrated how a product can become the basis for a complete temporary scenic environment. The large fibreglass perfume bottle provided the principal three-dimensional feature. MDF scenic construction incorporated the LED screen into the presentation area, while custom-shaped video walls extended the bottle identity into digital media.

Supported by branded scenic elements, decorative backdrops, projections and drapery, the installation brought together multiple scenic disciplines around one recognisable product form. For Evolution Scenic, the project demonstrates the combination of custom 3D fabrication, fibreglass scenic production, MDF construction and digital display integration required to create a bespoke branded environment for a luxury product launch.
