National Day celebrations require environments that express cultural identity while creating meaningful experiences for guests of different ages and backgrounds. On 29 November 2022, Abu Dhabi Airports hosted a large-scale UAE National Day activation at Abu Dhabi Airports Garden in collaboration with GAL and Royal Jet.


Evolution Scenic designed and delivered an event environment inspired by the UAE’s cultural heritage and Abu Dhabi Airports’ core values of Committed, Collaborative and Exceptional.

The activation included three immersive zones, a main performance stage, a VIP majlis, interactive installations, branded food stations and local-market elements. Together, these spaces created a varied experience for VIP guests, families and children.

The Challenge


The event needed to celebrate the UAE’s cultural heritage while remaining consistent with Abu Dhabi Airports’ brand identity and organisational values.


Different audience groups and activities had to be accommodated within one connected environment. The scenic layout needed to support traditional performances, speeches, cultural showcases, VIP hospitality, family engagement, food trucks and local vendors.


Each space required its own function and character while contributing to a cohesive National Day experience across the wider venue.

The Solution


Evolution Scenic designed and built three immersive zones, each interpreting one of Abu Dhabi Airports’ core values through scenic elements and interactive features.


A main stage and scenic backdrop were fabricated to provide a central setting for traditional performances, speeches and cultural showcases. The stage environment combined functional production requirements with a visual treatment appropriate for the National Day programme.


For VIP guests, the team created a premium majlis environment incorporating furnishings and event branding. The space provided a comfortable hospitality setting while remaining visually connected to the wider celebration.


Experiential activations were installed to encourage participation from attendees of different ages. Branded food stations, kiosks and seating areas were also incorporated into the scenic layout to accommodate food trucks and local vendors.


By coordinating the stage, hospitality, activation and market areas as one environment, Evolution Scenic balanced cultural references with a modern approach to event design.

The three immersive zones translated Abu Dhabi Airports’ values into physical guest experiences, while the main stage provided a focal point for the event programme. The VIP majlis, interactive installations and market areas enabled different audiences to experience the celebration in ways suited to their needs.
