Zayed Future Energy Prize Gala Dinner
Milestone gala dinners require event environments that recognise the importance of the occasion while respecting the character of their venue. On 15 January 2018, the Zayed Future Energy Prize marked its tenth anniversary with a Winners Dinner at Louvre Abu Dhabi during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
The event also formed part of the 100 Years of Zayed initiative, bringing together previous winners, beneficiaries and 2018 finalists. It celebrated a prize whose programmes had positively affected more than 307 million people worldwide.
Evolution Scenic delivered a bespoke stage, branded backdrops, decorative scenery and custom furnishings, creating an elegant environment for speeches, presentations, hospitality and media activity.
The Challenge
The dinner needed to reflect the global significance of the Zayed Future Energy Prize and its decade-long legacy of supporting innovation and sustainability.
Louvre Abu Dhabi provided an architecturally distinctive setting. The scenic elements needed to establish a clear identity for the dinner while remaining visually compatible with the scale, materials and character of the venue.
The environment also had to support several practical requirements, including speeches, presentations, guest hospitality, photography and media coverage, without allowing any single element to dominate the wider setting.
The Solution
Evolution Scenic designed and fabricated a bespoke stage with integrated branding, creating the principal setting for speeches and presentations. Its proportions and visual treatment were developed to reflect the formal status of the occasion.
Additional scenic installations and decorative features were created to complement the architecture of Louvre Abu Dhabi and connect the stage with the wider dinner environment.
Custom branded backdrops provided dedicated locations for guest photography and media coverage. These installations strengthened the event identity while ensuring that official imagery had a consistent visual background.
Bespoke furniture was produced to coordinate with the venue and scenic treatment while providing the comfort and functionality required for guests.
Floral arrangements and ambient lighting completed the environment, adding depth and warmth to the dinner setting without competing with the surrounding architecture.
