Annual celebrations require a scenic approach that can evolve with each edition while maintaining continuity with the organisation’s identity and values. On 28 August 2023, ADNOC celebrated Emirati Women’s Day at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center and Al Dhannah under the theme We Collaborate for Tomorrow.


The event honoured the contributions of Emirati women within ADNOC and the wider community, creating opportunities for empowerment, networking and collaboration through a curated programme of activities.


For the fourth consecutive year, Evolution Scenic was selected to design and fabricate the event’s scenic elements. The delivery included stage backdrops, interactive installations, workshop environments, thematic food and beverage stations and sustainable scenic materials.


The Challenge


The scenic environment needed to communicate the We Collaborate for Tomorrow theme while supporting the professional, cultural and participatory dimensions of the event.


Delivery across the Abu Dhabi Energy Center and Al Dhannah required a consistent creative approach across two locations. Stage environments, interactive features, workshops and hospitality areas all needed to feel connected while fulfilling different functions.


The project also needed to reflect Emirati heritage and support ADNOC’s sustainability initiatives without compromising the quality, elegance or durability of the scenic finish.

The Solution


Evolution Scenic designed and produced stage backdrops and scenic installations that established an inspiring and professional setting for the event programme.


Interactive features, including photo booths and decorative panels, were fabricated to encourage guest participation. These installations introduced more informal engagement opportunities alongside the event’s stage content and networking activities.


For the Bead of Excellence workshop, Evolution Scenic created custom scenic elements incorporating materials that reflected Emirati heritage. The workshop environment connected the activity with the wider cultural purpose of Emirati Women’s Day.


Thematic food and beverage stations were also designed and built as part of the scenic environment. Their visual treatment supported the event’s storytelling and extended the theme into the hospitality experience.


Eco-friendly materials were used across the scenic delivery in alignment with ADNOC’s sustainability initiatives.

The completed scenic environments provided a consistent visual identity across the Abu Dhabi Energy Center and Al Dhannah while supporting the event’s varied programme.


Stage backdrops established the central event setting, while photo booths, decorative panels and workshop elements encouraged participation and interaction. Thematic serving stations extended the experience into the hospitality areas.


By combining cultural references, sustainable materials and functional scenic design, Evolution Scenic created an engaging environment that supported ADNOC’s message of collaboration, empowerment and future-focused progress.
