• For The Love Of Horses – Literary Exhibition & Bespoke Scenic Event Design, Dubai (2019)

Scenic presentation area coordinated with book displays and artwork plinths.

Private cultural events require a different kind of scenic restraint, where the environment supports the subject without overwhelming it. For the launch of For the Love of Horses, published by the Government of Dubai Media Office, Evolution delivered an immersive event setting inspired directly by the poetry, visual identity and artistic content of the book.

The publication featured 18 poems in English and Arabic celebrating HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s connection with horses. The launch welcomed 150 distinguished guests, including international visitors attending the World Cup, and combined a book-inspired gallery installation, custom branding, refined furniture and original artworks by three Emirati artists.

    The Challenge

The event needed to translate the character of a bilingual poetry collection into a physical environment while maintaining an elegant and culturally appropriate presentation.

The scenic treatment had to support literature and art rather than compete with them. Selected poems needed to be displayed clearly in both English and Arabic, while original artworks featured in the publication also had to be incorporated into the guest journey.

The overall environment also needed to feel refined enough for a private audience of distinguished guests, requiring close control of colour, furniture, branding and spatial composition.

    The Solution

Evolution developed an exhibition environment directly inspired by the design and content of the book.

Custom scenic structures were created to replicate oversized book pages, allowing selected poems to be displayed in both English and Arabic as part of an immersive gallery-style installation.

A large-scale mock-up of the book cover was also fabricated as a prominent branded feature, supported by additional signage and event identity elements.

Furniture was curated in a controlled palette of cement grey, off-white and black, helping maintain a restrained and sophisticated atmosphere across the space.

Original artworks by three Emirati artists whose work appeared in the book were integrated into the environment, adding another layer of cultural and visual storytelling to the installation.

Evolution also coordinated the logistics, scenic production and on-site execution required to bring the different elements together into one cohesive guest experience.

  • Prada Mode – Art Installation & Bespoke Scenic Fabrication, Dubai (2023)

Pharmacy-style display cabinets installed within Prada Mode at ICD Brookfield Place.

Luxury cultural events demand environments where art, architecture, furniture and technical integration operate as one carefully controlled experience. For the eighth edition of Prada Mode in Downtown Dubai, Evolution Scenic delivered bespoke scenic and artistic elements for the two-day programme at ICD Brookfield Place.

Centred around Damien Hirst’s Pharmacy concept, the event combined contemporary art, music, dining and conversation within a highly curated setting. Evolution Scenic’s scope included a suspended DNA molecule, a custom central bar, bespoke furniture, a life-sized medical display cabinet, column and window treatments, and collaborative rigging coordination with FARO Studio lighting designers and VCA Projects.

Custom outdoor counters fabricated to continue the Prada Mode visual language.

    The Challenge

Prada Mode required a scenic environment that could support a highly distinctive artistic concept while maintaining the level of refinement expected from an international luxury fashion house.

The suspended DNA molecule needed to achieve significant visual impact while remaining lightweight enough for overhead installation. Its form, material choice and internal weight distribution therefore had to be considered carefully.

The existing venue architecture also needed to be transformed without losing its premium character. Eight-metre-high circular columns, windows, furniture and bar elements all had to contribute to the wider Pharmacy-inspired visual language.

The ceiling conditions added another layer of complexity, requiring accurate scanning and close collaboration with the wider design and rigging teams to position suspended scenic and lighting elements safely.

Premium exhibition installation for Prada Mode Dubai

    The Solution

Evolution Scenic fabricated a large-scale Styrofoam DNA molecule as one of the principal visual features of the event.

The structure was engineered specifically for suspension, with material strength and weight distribution considered throughout the fabrication process so that the sculptural form could be installed safely while maintaining its intended scale.

A custom central bar was designed and built as a major functional feature within the space, supported by bespoke comfort furniture tailored to the luxury hospitality environment.

A life-sized medical display cabinet was also fabricated in response to Damien Hirst’s Pharmacy concept, creating a more literal connection between the scenic environment and the artistic narrative.

Eight-metre-high circular columns were wrapped with custom wallpaper to transform the venue architecture, while transparent vinyl graphics were applied to the windows to extend the visual treatment across the wider interior.

Ceiling scans were carried out to support the rigging strategy, with Evolution Scenic collaborating with FARO Studio lighting designers and VCA Projects to coordinate the suspended scenic and lighting installations accurately and safely.

  • Christmas at Expo City – Festive Scenic Fabrication and Installations, Dubai (2022)

    expo-city-festive-scenic-installation

Seasonal destinations rely on scenic environments to create a strong sense of place while offering visitors memorable opportunities for interaction, photography and family activity.

For Christmas at Expo City Dubai in 2022, Evolution Scenic fabricated a wide-ranging collection of festive installations that transformed the venue into an immersive winter environment.

The project included large snow-covered décor islands, giant baubles, illuminated reindeer, stylised trees, Santa’s sleigh, oversized nutcrackers, Santa’s house, festive retail units and a Letters to Santa activation. Each feature combined specialist fabrication with detailed scenic finishing to create a cohesive seasonal experience.

    The Challenge

The project involved numerous large-scale scenic elements, each with different structural, material and finishing requirements.

The freestanding décor islands were particularly difficult to handle. Their substantial size and lack of caster wheels made them challenging to move through confined workshop areas while snow-effect flocking was being applied in different locations.

Santa’s sleigh and reindeer also required careful fabrication. The sleigh needed to accommodate children safely for photography, while both elements required sufficient structural strength and detailed scenic finishes.

All installations needed to work together visually while supporting different functions, including photography, children’s activities, retail and general venue decoration.

    The Solution

Evolution Scenic constructed the freestanding décor islands using expanded polystyrene foam and moisture-resistant medium-density fibreboard. Snow-textured finishes were applied to create the winter appearance required for the wider environment.

Stacks of oversized baubles were designed and fabricated as colourful focal points, while illuminated reindeer and stylised tree sculptures introduced light and visual depth throughout the venue.

Santa’s sleigh was built at a scale suitable for children to sit inside for photographs. The sleigh and accompanying reindeer were fabricated from a combination of polystyrene and timber, then completed with detailed scenic painting to create a more realistic appearance.

Oversized nutcracker sculptures provided additional festive landmarks and photography opportunities. A custom Santa’s house was fabricated as a central attraction, incorporating detailed architectural and decorative features.

Holiday-themed retail units were produced to support event activities and merchandise sales. Evolution Scenic also created a giant Letters to Santa mailbox with custom tables and seating, forming a dedicated writing activity for children.

    Delivery Highlights

  • Victoria’s Secret Perfume Launch – Luxury Scenic Fabrication & Brand Activation, Dubai (2021)

Evolution Scenic custom scenic environment combining fabricated structures and LED display technology.

Luxury product launches require environments where every scenic element reinforces the identity of the brand and the product being introduced. From the main focal point to the surrounding finishes, the physical environment becomes part of how guests experience the launch.

For the Victoria’s Secret Perfume Launch in Dubai, Evolution Scenic designed and delivered an immersive boutique activation centred around the visual identity of the new fragrance.

Bespoke perfume bottle-shaped video walls, branded scenic features, decorative backdrops, projections and soft drapery transformed the boutique for the launch. The experience extended beyond the physical retail environment with a branded projection on the Burj Khalifa for the exclusive launch night, before the activation opened to the wider public over the weekend.

Evolution Scenic fibreglass Victoria’s Secret perfume bottle fabricated for the Dubai fragrance launch.

    The Challenge

The project required the existing boutique to be transformed into a distinctive launch environment while maintaining the premium character associated with Victoria’s Secret.

The fragrance needed a strong visual focal point that could immediately connect the physical environment with the product, while signage, backdrops, projection and decorative treatments needed to work together as one cohesive brand experience.

The activation also had to accommodate different audiences, beginning with an exclusive launch for media and influencers before transitioning into a public-facing experience over the weekend without losing the quality or character of the original installation.

Branded scenic fabrication and digital display elements delivered for the Victoria’s Secret Dubai launch.

    The Solution

Evolution Scenic developed the activation around a series of bespoke scenic elements inspired directly by the fragrance and its visual identity.

The centrepiece was a collection of custom-shaped video walls fabricated in the silhouette of the perfume bottle. By translating the product form into a large-scale scenic feature, the displays created an immediate connection between the fragrance and the launch environment while providing a platform for digital content.

Branded signage, decorative backdrops and graphic projections were integrated throughout the boutique to extend the visual identity beyond the central installation. Soft, flowing drapery introduced additional texture and helped create a more immersive and refined setting.

For the exclusive launch night, a Victoria’s Secret brand projection was coordinated on the Burj Khalifa, extending the activation beyond the boutique and creating a high-visibility moment for the launch.

The scenic environment remained in place for the public activation over the weekend, allowing a wider audience to experience the launch environment.

For the FoodTech Challenge 2023 at ADNEC during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Evolution Scenic delivered a coordinated scenic environment for a global competition focused on advancing food technology solutions.

Launched under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and organised by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and Tamkeen, the 2023 edition brought together 12 finalist teams selected from 667 submissions across 79 countries. Evolution Scenic’s scope included a bespoke exhibition showcase, interactive engagement zones, themed branding, a dedicated finalist presentation stage and sustainable scenic fabrication.

    The Challenge

The FoodTech Challenge needed to support both exhibition and competition functions within one cohesive environment.

The 12 finalist teams required dedicated spaces to present their food technology innovations, while visitors needed clear opportunities to explore and engage with the solutions on display.

The event also required a formal presentation environment for finalist pitches and an awards ceremony, meaning the scenic package had to move between exhibition, interaction and high-profile stage content without losing visual consistency.

Sustainability was another important consideration, with the material approach needing to reflect the objectives of the wider competition.

    The Solution

Evolution Scenic designed and fabricated a bespoke exhibition environment tailored to the finalist showcase.

Custom exhibition structures were created to provide each team with a clear and professional platform for presenting its innovation.

Interactive zones were integrated into the wider layout, giving guests opportunities to engage more directly with the technologies and concepts on display.
